Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health is a not-for-profit community health organisation providing a comprehensive range of free and low-cost health, wellbeing and community services in early childhood, youth, families, adults, aged and disability.
Covering an area of over 1700 km2 from Sunbury to beyond the borders of Macedon Ranges Shire our 220 staff and 70 volunteers are based across four sites at Kyneton, Romsey and Sunbury.

About the Role
We are seeking applicants for a highly motivated and experienced a General and Family Violence Counsellor to join a well-established counselling team in Sunbury to cover a maternity leave role.
Applicants will have a clear understanding of mental health and family violence issues and treatment, as well as a solid understanding of counselling skills and group work. You will have a trauma informed intersectional approach to counselling, as well as be a proven self-starter with exceptional autonomy skills and ability to in a team environment as part of a wider mental health and wellbeing unit.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Degree level qualifications in social work, psychology, counselling or related discipline. Credentialing as a psychologist, provisional psychologist, or accredited mental health social worker is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering therapeutic interventions to people experiencing mental health issues and family violence.
- Experience working with a diverse client group and group facilitation.
- Sound knowledge of the service system
