We support the formal placement of students as a contribution towards training professionals for the community and health sector. Students seeking work experience or wishing to complete placements can contribute to the work we do within the community.
We offer a broad range of services and programs providing interesting learning opportunities. We are also happy to discuss relevant post graduate research proposals and placements.
We offer secondary school students work experience and certificate level placement. Tertiary student placements are available in the following areas:
- Adult physiotherapy
- Adult occupational therapy
- Health promotion
- Paediatric physiotherapy, occupational therapy or speech pathology
- Early childhood education
- Social work
Please note that only placements requested, supported and approved by a learning institution are eligible. There must also be set learning outcomes. We are unable to support requests from independent students aiming to seek experience.
As a registered community health and family day care organisation we are included in the public health directions regarding mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations of all our staff as well as all contractors, students and volunteers. The requirement to be fully vaccinated applies to student placements at Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health regardless of their role within the organisation. We are required to collect, record and hold vaccination information of all our staff, students and volunteers. For more information about mandatory vaccinations, see the Victorian Government’s coronavirus website. If you have a medical exemption and are unvaccinated, and wish to apply, please contact our People Culture and Capability team to talk through suitability.
