The Housing Support program provides assistance to people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. The service provides assistance to single adults, families, women and children experiencing family violence, and young people from age 15 years.
The program aims to assist people to move through crisis and/or homelessness to independence and to maintain appropriate, secure and sustainable housing.
The assistance provided by Housing Support is tailored to the individual’s and family’s needs through case management which may range from a single session to more extensive contact and support.
The services offered may include access to crisis and transitional housing, assistance to apply for public and social housing or bond loans, advocacy, referral for generalist, financial, drug/alcohol counselling and children’s services.
Limited financial support is available through the Housing Establishment Fund (HEF).
For those in private rental accommodation, financial assistance is available through the Private Rental Assistance Program (PRAP).
If you are aged 15 – 25 years and in need of Housing Support, please refer to our Youth Housing Program.
