Why volunteer?
Our people are our greatest asset and our volunteers are vital to the success of the services we offer. Volunteering offers people the opportunity to share and develop their skills and contribute to their local community. We have volunteer opportunities across a number of programs and projects. All volunteers receive support and relevant training, and play an important role in the work of the organisation. We acknowledge and thank all current and past volunteers for the vital contribution they have made, and continue to make, to our programs and operations.
Varied regular and casual volunteer roles
There are two ways to volunteer with us, either sign on as a regular volunteer with us or join our casual volunteer pool. Examples of the kind of work our volunteers do include:
- Assisting with children’s programs
- Building the confidence of social support group participants
- Encouraging older persons to maintain mobility
- Helping out our staff at community events
- Assisting in supporting health and exercise programs
Casual volunteers
Are you keen to give back to your local community but a bit short on time? Are you a bit of a whizz on social media, a good photographer, or maybe helping out at events would look good on your resumé? We are excited to be putting together a pool of social volunteers of all ages (18 years +), all abilities, cultural backgrounds and lifestyles, for short term programs and events. Opportunities are varied and you can let us know where you think your skills and interest fit best. We’ll let you know what’s coming up, when and where, then you can let us know if you’d like to be part of it. Please complete our online Expression of Interest form to get things started.
Safety Checks Required
Volunteers, like staff, undergo screenings to help keep everyone safe. The following mandatory checks are done at no cost to our volunteers: National Police Check, Working With Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check.
