Leigh was a foundation member of the Sunbury Community Health Committee of Management. He had given up a senior marketing position to become a local businessman and was committed to his family and to the Sunbury community. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Sunbury and during his twelve years on the Committee, he served two terms as Vice President and four as President. As President, his understanding of community health and energy was essential in the establishment of the organisation.
