Jim Weatherill
Jim was Sunbury Community Health’s first employee. As the founding Executive Officer, he was tasked with the development of a fledgling community health service. The establishment of community health services required the building of quality relationships, taking a leadership role in response to community needs and developing an agile and responsive organisational culture. The development of Sunbury Community Health was founded on the needs of a growing community and informed by those with expertise. Jim brought his prior skills to bear in the use of data to monitor effectiveness of the services being introduced and as a means of demonstrating the organisation’s ability to apply for additional services. In its founding years, under his leadership, the community of Sunbury became greatly aware of the value and potential of a community health service and witnessed the creation of new premises, services and opportunities for community participation and involvement. Jim was presented with a Life Governor award in 1982 for his leadership and dedication to the organisation.
