An exciting opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our People and Culture team on a fixed term contract (secondment backfill).

Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health (SCCH) provides a broad range of health and community services across the City of Hume, Macedon Ranges Shire and beyond.

Reporting to the Manager, People & Culture, the People and Culture Officer is responsible for providing administrative support to the People and Culture team to provide human resources and payroll support and advice across our organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity that provides great variety in your work day to day.  You will be the first point of contact for employees from commencement and through to their journey at SCCH. This is an exciting role that provides a range of duties, not limited to: recruitment advertising, conducting compliance checks, contract development, as well as payroll data entry (and our back up) for payroll processing.

The responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Supporting full function end-to-end payroll and respond to internal queries
  • Confidential maintenance of employee personal records
  • General human resources administrative tasks (probation tracking, variations of employment processing and documentation, compliance tracking)
  • Support and generate relevant People and Culture reports
  • Support adhoc project work
  • Support with system administration

About you

Your excellent interpersonal and communications skills as well as your ability to build relationships and work collaboratively and consultatively will see you fit into our fun team that is supportive and passionate about our people, the work we do, the organisation’s purpose, our values and work place culture.

You will be a motivated individual with exceptional customer services skills, who is excited about the contribution you can make.  Your experience in human resources and/or payroll administration will highlight your strong attention to detail, pro-activity and ability to identify systems and/or process improvements enabling our team to provide the experience and outcomes for our people.

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook
  • Previous experience in the use of Employee Connect, Payroll Metrics would be advantageous
  • Previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
