Empowering Women in the Macedon Ranges showcases the powerful work being done in our community to uplift and empower women and gender-diverse people in the Macedon Ranges.
We asked women in leadership around the Macedon Ranges what they were doing to challenge gender stereotypes and uplift local women and how we can take action to prevent gender-based violence in our community.
The film was made during the United Nation’s international campaign 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence from 25 November to 10 December 2022. We hope it will increase community understanding of the link between gender inequality and gender-based violence.
We would like to thank Macedon Ranges Shire Council for funding this project, and Preface Films for their creative vision and filmmaking expertise.
We particularly thank our interviewees:
- Annette Death – Mayor, MRSC
- Natalie Korinfsky – Player, Kyneton Football Netball Club
