In 2020 Cobaw launched a suite of short videos and other resources to support healthcare professionals when working with LGBTIQA+ patients or clients. The ‘Doing It Better’ resources have been created to support healthcare workers to provide affirming and person-centred care to the LGBTIQA+ community.
The ‘Doing It Better’ resources are free and include:
- Five short animated videos that cover key themes that could improve the patient/client experience. The videos cover the topics of:
- Safe and Inclusive Healthcare
- Pronouns
- Sex, Gender and Sexuality
- Equality versus Equity in Healthcare
- All Gender Bathrooms
- Good practice guides for LGBTIQA+ inclusive data collection (one for health professionals and one for patients/clients)
- Information on inclusive practice training and LGBTIQA+ groups and programs available for LGBTIQA+ community members across the lifespan.
