We have a new diabetes education service that is being run from our Kyneton office.  The service is for adults who have pre-diabetes, type 1 or type 2 diabetes.  We offer one-on-one diabetes support as well as regular group programs with supported exercise and education.  Our group program, ‘Don’t Sugar Coat Diabetes’, features guest speakers covering topics such as podiatry, exercise physiology, diet and cardiac health.

Our diabetes service is also available from our Sunbury office.

Diabetes education can provide support to people adapting to life with diabetes, by explaining what it is and how to manage it.  It can help with blood glucose monitoring and with the use of glucose monitoring devices.  A diabetes education nurse can also support the use of injectable insulin and discuss other medications and lifestyle changes that can be made to help manage diabetes.

Family members or other support people are welcome to come along to the appointments.
