The Community Partnerships and Engagement Officer role is an exciting opportunity to drive positive change within our communities.

As the Community Partnerships and Engagement Officer you will work closely with key local partners across Mitchell Shire and the broader catchment to deliver health promotion, partnership and community engagement outcomes that improve the health and wellbeing of our community.  With a focus on healthy eating and physical activity, you will lead initiatives that contribute to the Lower Hume Prevention Collaborative Health Promotion Action Plan, and support the broader team to deliver a program with a focus on the social determinants of health, health equity and rights-based practice. Current projects focus on food environments in Seymour and disability inclusive sports in Seymour and Wallan, among other deliverables.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Project management and evaluation skills (preferably in health and/or community service sector)
  • Relationship, communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to operate in a collaborative manner within the organisation and with external partners
  • Ability to work creatively with energy and compassion both autonomously yet cohesively with multiple team members and stakeholders
  • Excellent time management and administration skills
  • Content expertise in promoting healthy eating and active living desirable
  • The successful candidate will be required to undertake and maintain a National Criminal History Check, NDIS Safety Screening Check, Working with Children Check and hold valid Australian working rights
