Calling young people!

We are excited to be partnering with a number of organisations in this important project which aims to increase young people’s awareness and understanding of the new Victorian affirmative consent laws.

Young People as Agents of Change (YPAC) is a collaborative project between young people and a number of organisations that provide support services to the Macedon Ranges.

Our project partners include:

This project is one of many funded by the Department of Family, Fairness, and Housing following amendments to the Crimes Act which include the adoption of an affirmative consent model making it clear that everyone has a responsibility to get consent before engaging in sexual activity.

The YPAC project will be co-designed with young people aged 15-17 and will focus support on young cisgendered (people whose gender identity matches their sex assigned at birth), heterosexual and LGBTIQA+ young people aged 12-17 to have respectful, healthy relationships based on affirmative consent.  It will be delivered in community settings across the Macedon Ranges.

All resources will be age-appropriate and based on the Victorian Government consent curriculum and evidence-based best practices.

Are you a young person with something to say on consent?
