The School Focused Youth Service is a statewide initiative aimed at ensuring that young people are well supported in their communities and remain engaged and connected to education.

This is achieved by:

  • Creating partnerships and pathways between schools and community organisations to support at risk young people
  • Coordinating the provision of community-based services in partnership with schools and community agencies

The School Focused Youth Service works to assist schools and community organisations to support vulnerable young people (aged 10 to 18) in government, Catholic and independent schools, as well as those who have disengaged early from mainstream schooling.

In the Macedon Ranges, the School Focused Youth Service is supported by representatives from local schools, the Macedon Ranges Shire Council, the Central Ranges Local Learning and Employment Network (CRLLEN) and Victoria Police.

We also support the School Focused Youth Service in Mount Alexander Shire and Central Goldfields Shire.
