What is podiatry?
Podiatry is the medical care and treatment of the feet. Good feet are important for our health and wellbeing and a podiatrist can help you to reduce pain and prevent problems with your feet and legs, especially for those with diabetes. Good foot health can also help with balance and prevent falls and tripping.
Our podiatrists can:
- Check the blood flow and feeling in your feet and toes using specialised tests
- Manage bunions and wounds
- Help reduce ulcers and sores
- Attend to ingrown toenails and assist with partial or total nail removal
- Check how you walk and help with shoe choices (including for children)
Who is our podiatry service it for?
- Children and adults with a chronic disease (e.g. diabetes, heart disease, lung conditions)
- Adults and children age seven years and over

How much does it cost to see our podiatrist?
This will depend on your income, if you have a concession card or if you use this service through a plan like the NDIS or a Home Care Package. For those with diabetes, with cardiac (heart) or with pulmonary (lung) issues, this service is free (Macedon Ranges residents only).
